About Tamatebako
In Tamatebako handmade, we use obi(belt) of Nishijin brocade, which is traditional Japanese beauty, to make bags one by one by hand.
Since ancient times in Japan we have inherited kimonos from mother to daughter, from daughter to that child carefully.
However, with the modern Western style wearing, most of the Japanese casual clothes became a western style clothes.I would like to get familiar with young people and overseas people by making valuable brands that have been cherished carefully to modern bags tailored to modern fashion and to know the splendor of traditional Japanese technology I will.
The material of the belt is a fine silk thread.Some gold and silver threads are using genuine gold leaf or platinum foil, which can be called "textile jewel".

Here I have launched Tomatebako from the thought of eliminate that barrier,I would like to take it in ordinary life to enjoy fashion,I handled each one carefully to design to match modern fashion with a new sense.
While studying western clothing history, textiles, composition studies, judgment, design science at university in Tokyo,I engaged in design and production of event costumes etc.
After working for a wedding dress production company,I manage dresses and costume production business.Costumes such as celebrity costumes, dramas, commercials etc are produced.
One day, when remaking a kimono or a belt which has been stored in a chest of drawers and going out,a lot of good reactions are received and a request for production is received.Knowing that many people want to make use of the kimono and belt of memories,To be helpful to people,I started "Tamatebao handmade".

Tamami Katsuma
I am from Tokyo. While studying western clothing history, textiles, composition studies, judgment, design science at university in Tokyo, he engaged in design and production of event costumes etc. After graduation he worked for a wedding dress production company, after experiencing designers and patterners, he independently manages the production of dresses and stage costumes.
Costumes such as wedding dresses and entertainers' costumes, dramas and commercials were produced.
One day, I made bags and hats using the kimono and belt that my favorite grandmother left behind, and when I go out, a lot of echoes are received so that I get a request for production. I know that many people want to make use of memorable kimonos and bands, and from the thought that I would like to serve you, I opened "Tamagobuko handmade" in 2016. In June, 2018, we opened a shop with support from Shinagawa Ward, 1 minute walk from Musashi Oyama station. In the shop, we offer consultation on custom made and hold workshops.
